    ANNUAL REPORTS 2014 - 2015

During the financial year of April 2014 to March 2015, INGON made significant progress on various fronts.

This included 21 training workshops and meetings related to enhancement and implementation of the Impulse Model; partnering with YMCA Myanmar, to scale up the Impulse Model in Myanmar; para legal volunteer training in Arunachal Pradesh; and an Indo-Myanmar Regional Consultation on Trafficking in Persons.

The biggest achievement this year, was in the fight against Child Labour in the Rat-Hole Coal Mines of Meghalaya. India’s National Green Tribunal (NGT) passed an order banning rat-hole mining in the state of Meghalaya, thus putting an end to many years of cruelty and indignity that came with the illegal employment of children in these mines.

    ANNUAL REPORTS 2013 - 2014

The challenges and successes in our journey so far as an organisation, is an attestation of our work against human trafficking and exploitation, and our fight for child rights worldwide.

During the year, we organised several events and conferences with key stakeholders. This included the Trafficking-in-Persons Conclave 3, and Moving Forward Together – both supported by the American Centre of the US Consulate in Kolkata. These events helped establish and expand cross-border collaboration against human trafficking, between Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, and India.

These meetings also led to the replication of the Impulse Model in Myanmar, and setting up of ICIC Myanmar, with a capacity building workshop for NGOs and media persons.

In 2013-14, we also conducted significant research, on Access to Justice for Women in the Northeast, which led to its recommendations being implemented by the Department of Justice – Government of India, with the support of UNDP, and administration by NRCW and NMEW.
