Dr. Govind Prasad Thapa | Impulse Model Policy Advisor Nepal
Dr. Govind Thapa is former Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police. He has extensive experience of policing in the most difficult period of the country. During his career of over three decades, he contributed in institution building of Nepal Police. He is the Impulse Model Policy Advisor for Nepal to Impulse NGO Network and a Trainer on the Nepalese legal framework.
Dr. Thapa was among the pioneers in establishing Police Women and Children Service Centre and community police centres in the country. He also contributed in formulating security and criminal law and policy reforms.
Currently, he is a consultant to The Asia Foundation as Senior Technical Adviser for National Committee for Controlling Human Trafficking, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare.
Previously, he served as Faculty and Program Coordinator of the Masters in Security Management Program in the School of Management, Kathmandu University between 2007 and 2010.
He is the Founder President and Lifetime Member of Centre for Security and Justice Studies, Nepal. He has also authored various articles on the issues of security in various edited books and daily newspapers.
