Smyrna Rai

Smyrna Rai is a Project Development Manager at Impulse NGO Network, working within the framework of the globally recognised Impulse Model.

She holds a B.A.LL. B from Savitribai Phule Pune University and an LL.M in European and International Law, specialising in Public International Law from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Her professional journey includes internships with criminal and civil lawyers, the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission, and other civil society organisations. Most notably, she worked at the Amsterdam International Law Clinic, where she gained valuable experience in engaging with United Nations accountability mechanisms and international human rights advocacy.

Guided by a strong commitment to advancing Impulse NGO Network’s vision of creating a just and equitable society, she brings her expertise to strengthen initiatives that empower vulnerable communities and uphold human dignity. Her areas of focus include human rights, gender equality, and LGBTQIA+ rights, which align with the organisation’s mission to protect and promote the rights of women and children, and to combat human trafficking and exploitation through collaborative, rights-based interventions.
